LAMPANO ALLEY Most significant is the Manila-based blues band LAMPANO ALLEY, one of the most influential music groups in the Philippines from 1996-2000. With leader Binky Lampano spending most of his time in Los Angeles since fall 2000 and Tomcat splitting time between Manila and Mexico, the band now regroups for occasional reunion tours. The band’s CD Songs from the Alley, released in 2002, has earned a reputation throughout Asia, earning the band headliner status at the 2005 Mosiac Music Festival in Singapore, sponsored by the Esplanade in association with the Montreaux Jazz Festival. Other headline artists included James Moody, Shirley Horn and Youssou N'Dour, plus two concerts organized by the Montreaux Jazz Festival. The band has been invited back to the 2008 edition of the Mosaic MusicFestival, performing on 15 March 2008. For a full program, you can visit the festival website.

CHAMPAGNE BLUES Tomcat’s off-beat duo in Mexico, formed in collaboration with guitarist/singer Geoff Watkinson. The duo performs classic acoustic blues, some quirky songs and an array of jazz ballad standards. While the duo mostly plays private parties, it also plays occasional art openings in Puerto Vallarta. It has also been the featured music attraction at the up-scale restaurant TRIO during the Gourmet Festival.
